Our Story

Life should be fun!  We sell a large assortment of items to help make your summer at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes full of fun. Plus some things to take home with you!  We do all this in a playful environment with friendly staff who love Silver Lake and are proud to provide the excellent customer services everyone deserves.

Our store is a product of the inspiration, creativity, hard work and fun loving nature of the owner, Terri Sharpe.  With family ties to Silver Lake since 1946, Terri brings her heart and soul into The Sand Box, the store she owns in the place she loves.  Since 2004, Terri has provided a fun shopping experience with abundant and diverse offerings at a good price.  Her mission is to help make your time at Silver Lake a memorable one.

We would love to see you.  We do not offer online sales.  It's more fun to visit our store.  Come meet our resident moose, Sandy, or watch a video on sandboarding.  Try on our bathing suits and other clothing.  Rent or purchase a sandboard.  Touch and feel our products so you know what you are buying, something you can't do online!  See you soon!
